By downloading, installing, or playing Choppelganger ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
The first time you create or join a game, the App will ask you to confirm that you have read and agree to the Code of Conduct below. This agreement is required before participating in any game session.
Choppelganger is rated 12+ and is intended for middle school, high school, and adult group use in educational and social settings.
The App is not directed at children under 13. By using the App you confirm that you are 13 years of age or older, or that a parent or teacher has supervised your agreement to these Terms.
All players must follow the Code of Conduct at all times. This includes your display name, any chat messages sent during gameplay, and any question content you upload.
Be respectful. No hate speech, slurs, bullying, threats, sexual content, or demeaning usernames or messages — zero tolerance.
Protect privacy. Don't share personal information or impersonate others.
Play fair. Cheating, exploits, and spam are not allowed.
By tapping "I Agree" in the App, you confirm you have read and will follow these rules.
To keep the game safe for all players, Choppelganger uses automated content moderation on display names, chat messages, and uploaded question sets:
Content that is automatically blocked is logged temporarily for developer review. Repeated violations result in removal from the current session. We reserve the right to take additional action, including blocking access to future sessions, in response to serious or repeated violations of this Code of Conduct.
Players may also report others using the in-game Report button. Reports are reviewed by the developer and may result in further action.
Choppelganger includes an optional feature that uses OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini language model to generate quiz questions based on a topic entered by the game host.
No accuracy guarantee: AI-generated questions are produced by a language model and may contain factual errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information. Choppelganger makes no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose of AI-generated content. Hosts and players should verify important facts independently before relying on them.
AI-generated content is not a substitute for professional, educational, medical, legal, or other expert advice.
Hosts may upload question sets in CSV format. By uploading content you confirm that you have the right to use it and that it complies with these Terms of Use.
Uploaded question text is automatically scanned by a local content filter for prohibited language before questions are loaded into a game. However, Choppelganger does not manually review, verify, or endorse user-supplied content.
We take no responsibility for the accuracy, appropriateness, or intellectual property status of questions uploaded by users. Hosts are solely responsible for ensuring their question sets comply with applicable laws and are appropriate for their audience.
Choppelganger is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Game sessions depend on an active internet connection and a live server. We do not guarantee availability and reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Choppelganger and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, including but not limited to damages resulting from reliance on AI-generated content, user-uploaded question content, or interactions with other players.
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
